The privately funded USA Parkway will connect Highway 50 East near Silver Springs to Interstate 80 east of Sparks, near Tracy Clark Station in Storey County. The 18 mile road runs through the 104,000 acres Tahoe Reno Industrial Center amd is being built by industrial park developer Lance Gilman. The Parkway will save time on deliveries and commutes to the industrial park as well as Reno, putting Silver Springs within a half an hour of Reno.
The Reno Tahoe Industrial Center is the largest industrial center in the world already has major distributors including Wal-Mart and PetSmart and other top names.
Other benefits such as less pollution and a much shorter driving time for industrial park employees in the Silver Springs area. The road will also benefit rural towns farther east of Silver Springs such as Fernley by making them more accessible to Reno. This will make it easier for these areas to get major companies because most of these businesses want to be within two hours of both Southern and Northern Nevada and truckers can cut down on their delivery time to Reno and the industrial park. When it’s finished, USA Parkway will shorten by 10 miles the distance traveled by motorists who currently use Interstate 80 and Highway 50.
